Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Sunday announced his retirement from international cricket,The former skipper announced his retirement after a fighting contest between Zalmi and Kings.He said he would continue playing PSL for his fans.

The 36-year-old star had already quit Test and ODI cricket but Now he announces complete retirement from International Cricket.He stepped down as captain after the tournament but he retained hopes of continuing his career in the Leagues as a player.


“I have said goodbye to international cricket,” said Afridi after smashing 54 Runs from 28 balls in a Pakistan Super League match against Karachi kings in Sharjah.

He also said

“I am playing for my fans and will continue to play this league for two years but it’s good-bye from international cricket."

Afridi had been a fan favourite since he burst onto the scene in 1996, Hitting a 37-ball century against Sri Lanka in exactly his second match to set a record that was undefeated for seventeen years.

He gives more importance to his Foundation however he said “Now my foundation is more important for me. I have played in a professional way for my country.

Fans said that Afridi would be given a chance to play a farewell match. However, his retirement plan has now confirmed.He will only play leagues cricket or shorter format for his fans.

He became known as a bowling all-rounder within the half of his career and was a best player in Pakistan's early successes in T20,World cup 2007.

He is the most popular due to his aggressive batting style and holds a lot of international records including the Most Number of Sixes in ODI, 3rd fastest century of ODI,He also hit the longest six in the history of cricket.

Shahid Afridi is the youngest player ever to Score a one-day International’s century.He also Joint 2nd Fastest Fifty.He smashed 18 Ball fifty four times in ODI’s.

Shahid Afridi has won the most man of the match award 32 times in his career.In 2013, Shahid Afridi Bowled A Magical Spell of Bowling Against West Indies,he Took 7 Wickets by giving Just 12 Runs.

Afridi finishes his international career having played 27 Test matches with 1,176 runs, a highest score of 156 and 48 wickets.

He played 398 ODIs with 8,064 runs, a highest score of 124 and taking 395 wickets.

His Twenty20 international career was a brilliant as he play 98 matches with 1,405 runs and 97 wickets.
