Good-Bye Captain:Misbahul Haq announces retirement from international cricket.

Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq on Thursday announced his retirement from international cricket.

Misbah made the announcement at a press conference in Lahore on Thursday,said

“I am announcing my retirement from international cricket,” said Misbah. “The coming series against West Indies are going to be my last.”

The skipper said:

"There was no pressure on me. i was planning to quit after the England series within the UAE.however there have been some things and that i had to carry on taking part in. however overall it's fine and not like I'm under any pressure or someone has dictated this to me. I have myself understood that this is it and it's purely my very own decision".

He further said that he will continue to play cricket at domestic level.

“I will continue to play cricket at the domestic level,”

The Mianwali-born said that he had faced many difficulties during his career, but overall he is satisfied with the contribution.

“I’ve seen several ups and downs during my career,” he said. “I was dropped from the team played poorly as well at times. but then I had some nice moments too wherever we became the number one test team within the world. So overall, I'm glad with my performance.”.

Misbah also said that it’s time to support newly-appointed captain Sarfraz Ahmed.“We should not put pressure on Sarfraz; instead we should support him,” said Misbah.

Misbah ul haq Records:

He led the team against South Africa in 2011 and has become one of Pakistan's most successful captains with 24 wins, 14 losses and 11 draws under his belt.

Under Misbah's leadership, Pakistan also achieved the number-one Test ranking once again in 2016.

 No one in the history of Test match cricket has managed more centuries than Misbah beyond the age of 40. 

Misbah also became the first Pakistani to play 50 matches as Test captain.

Misbah ul haq is one of the most Successful Captain Pakistan had ever produced.
